About Us
The Karolys & Vela Law Firm has offered legal advice services since 1976; It was formed by associating Dr. Gonzalo Karolys (+), former attorney and former president of the Supreme Court of Justice, with Dr. Gil Vela, former advisor to the attorney general's office and freelance attorney. The firm maintains its offices in Quito but has provided legal advice throughout the country and also abroad.

We provide specialized legal services advice with a comprehensive vision and according to the needs of the client, the experience allows Karolys & Vela Law Firm to identify the needs of the client and the most efficient and appropriate strategy to follow. Founding PartnerFounding partner of the Karolys & Vela Law Firm, his specialty being Procedural Law with vast experience in advising on civil, criminal and administrative processes. He has been a freelance lawyer since 1976.
He was an advisor to several public institutions in the country, including the State Attorney General's Office.
Founding President of the Amazon State University from 2003 to 2009. Author of several essay books.
Gandhi Vela LL.M.
Main partnerPrincipal partner of the Karolys & Vela Law Firm, his specialty being Constitutional Law, with experience in constitutional processes, research and university professorship in the country and abroad.
He was a university professor at the Freie Universität Berlin (Free University of Berlin) from 2015 to 2019, he also served as director of the Center for Studies and Dissemination of Constitutional Law of the Constitutional Court of Ecuador from 2019 to 2022 and is a professor at the Pontifical University Catholic of Ecuador.
